Examination and Promotion Policy

Class Test-1.
a. For failing in 1 or 2 subjects, poor performance letter will be given to the parents.
b. For failing in more than 2 subjects, warning letter to be given mentioning that the
student will not be promoted to the next class if fails in more than 2 subjects in the
final terms examination.
Half Yearly Examination.
a. For failing in 1 or 2 subjects, warning letter will be given to the parents.
b. For failing in more than 2 subjects, undertaking will be taken from parents
mentioning that the student will not be promoted to the next class if fails in more than
2 subjects in the final term examination.
Class Test-2.
a. For failing in 1 or 2 subjects, poor performance letter will be given to the parents
mentioning that the student will not be promoted to the next class if fails in more than
2 subjects in the final term examination.
b. For failing in more than 2 subjects, undertaking will be taken from parents
mentioning that the student will not be promoted to the next class if fails in more than
2 subjects in the final term examination. [Parents those who already have been given
undertaking, will be reminded only]
Final Term Examination.
a. For failing in 1 subject, student will be promoted with a poor performance letter.
b. For failing in 2 subjects, student will be promoted to the next class with
undertaking from parents mentioning that if he/she fails in 2 or more subjects in the
final term examination of the upcoming year, he/she will be asked to repeat the class
or may take TC.
c. For failing in more than 2 subjects, student will be asked to repeat the class or
may take TC.
Note:
* Pass marks is 50% in total for all class except VIII, IX, X, XI, XII.
* For class VIII, IX, X, XI, XII pass marks is 40%.
* Students’ attendance must be 80% for all classes to appear in the Final Term
Examination. Less attendance will be considered only in case of students’ sickness,
Hajj or Umrah which is granted by Principal.

* Class Teacher is responsible for sending “poor performance letter”, “warning
letter” and taking “undertaking” as appropriate as per above policy. He/ She is
also responsible to keep record of such correspondence, acknowledgement slip etc.
* Principal will have the flexibility to give promotion/ give TC to a student / allow
him/her to repeat the same class on reasonable ground or for the betterment of the
students and interest of the institution.
* Subject teachers shall intimate cases of weak students for onward transmission to
parents.
* Weak students shall be taken care of separately by the subject teachers through
extra classes after the normal academic periods.
* Answer scripts of all exams shall be shown to parents in earmarked classroom
immediate before publishing result. However, parents may apply to authority for
taking the scripts clearly mentioning the date of return. Such scripts will only be
handed over to the parents only.
* Observation on scripts of CT/ Term Exams (if there is any) to be intimated to the
Class Teacher on the script showing day.
